Name: Varg
Age: 19
Race: Lupan/Aegyl hybrid
Gender: Male
Faction: Exile
Class: Scout
Description: In terms of looks, he resembles a Lupan. He stands at 4", tall for his race, and has a lean yet well muscled build.
Despite his youth, his hair is dark grey like the fur of a wolf, streaked through with white. It is cut resonable short, but the front alaways sticks up and his hair always looks messy, no matter how long he brushes it.
His eyes are a dark green tinged with hints of brown and amber, and sometimes the shade is very hard to tell.
His facial features are strong, and mostly appear human, save for silvery wolf like ears about 2 inches above where a humans ears would be, and a mouth that seems to just forwards ever so slightly, accentuated with large, wolf like fangs.
His body for the most part is covered with skin that is extremely pale, almost alabaster. From about mid-calf down this skin is covered with silvery fur, and the paws of a wolf replace his feet. From his tailbone there is a long, bushy wolf's tail, again covered with silvery fur. His hands are human yet the fingers are tipped with claws in place of fingernails
The only hint to his Aegyl heritage is a small cluster of black feathers that grow on the edges of his shoulderblades.
His clothing is simple yet functional, also serving as light armor. His pants come down to where his ankles would be if he were human, and are fashioned of leather. He wears a white linen tunic with short sleeves covered with a stiff leather vest. On top of all this, he wears a scrub green cloak that is large enough to wrap around his entire body and reaches to about mid calf.
Pic: None yet, I'll probably sketch one sooner or later.
Personality: Varg is very independant, and often argumentive. His mixed heritage often makes him feel like an outsider, belonging neither to the Lupans or the Aegyl, and to mask his feelings of isolation he is sarcastic and abrasive, making it hard for anyone to get along with him without being forced to spend a long time with him.
Beneath his protective exterior of indiferance and arrogance however, he is loyal to a fault, and once his friendship has been earned, will go to any lengths to protect those he cares for.
His bearing is sarcastic, ironic and slightly bitter and there is nearly always a knowing smirk on his lips, whether at whoever has had the misfortune of amusing him or at his own expense.
Biography: His mother, Asena, a full blood lupan, had kept her relationship with his father, Icari, an Aegyl, secret. She had given birth to twins, Varg, who resembled a lupan, and River, his sister, who resembled an Argyl. The couple decided that they would raise there children seperately, Asena taking Varg and Icari taking River.
So Varg grew up in a lupan villiage, thinking his father dead, not knowing that he was not a full blood lupan. His mother kept the black feathers on his back covered at all times so that no-one would see them and guesse at the truth, but it was obvious that Varg was not an ordinary lupin. At about the age of nine he began to display signs of the foresight, and the other lupans were afraid of him. The use of the foresight took a heavy toll on him, and he began to grow thin and depressed. He was labeled by the rest of the villiage as a freak, and he lived under the assumptiont hat he was until he was fifteen, and his mother told him that he was not full blood lupan. Heartsick at being lied to by his own mother, he went to seek his father.
He traveled for three months, avoiding all contact with other lupans, and came at last to the place where his mother had told him he would find his father.
It was a lovely villiage inhabited only by Aegyl on the weastern plains of Dez. When he entered the villiage, he was aprehended by the guards posted to keep the peace, and asked to explain why he was here. When he said that he was searching for an Aegyl named Icari, the guards sent for him. Icari came, curious to see why any lupan would wish to see him, and hoping that there would be news of the second half of his family.
When he saw Varg standing under the watch of the guards,s aw how much he resembled his mother, he asked him his name. Upon hearing the name, he embraced his son, and introduced hi to his sister, River. River was graceful and confident, well liked by all, and, in short, everything Varg was not. He felt as a course barbarian in comparison to her astonishing beauty. However, they were twins, and a deep bond imediately formed, both finding that though there was much in there lives that could not be compared, what they had in common was just a great as what was different. Varg dwelled for some months with his father and sister, but journeying to find them had inspired a deep wanderlust in his veins, and he found that he had to leave. Before he left though, his father crafted for him a fine sword, Ravenwolf, that he might be reminded of his mixed family, and his sister, River, swore that when she was ready she would find him.
And so he left, travelling the great deserts of Dez as a scout in a nomadic party. He has not mentioned to anyone his abilities of foersight, and continues to use them despite the tolls without knowing that it is forbidden.
Other: He is skilled with a bow, as are most Lupans, and carries a well made bow fashioned of oak with a quiver of raven fletched arrows. However his chief weapon is a light, thin sword that in the hands of a human would almost look like a toy, but in his hands is a deadly weapon. It is finely wrought of steel, and the crossguard is fashioned as two snarling wolfsheads and a raven with flared wings in the middle. The swords name is Ravenwolf.
